It is on all parents' minds right now-back to school! As we purchase school supplies and everything in between, most of us don't have to think about one thing- water. But that is not the case everywhere. With your support, we will provide clean water for drinking, sanitation, and cleaning, greatly improving hygiene and the overall school environment. Additionally, we will supply 815 students and staff with reusable cups and school supplies to kick off the start of the new school year.
Buhimba Primary School lacks clean, flowing water on their schools premises. For the 815 students and staff, this negatively impacts their concentration and ability to focus, resulting in lower learning outcomes. With limited access to school supplies, resources to develop students cognitive development are rare. Students do not have access to even basic activities such as coloring pages.
With your support, we plan to install a water connection from the Asili 400,000-liter reservoir located near the school to a new dedicated 5,000-liter tank for the school and provide re-usable drinking cups, ensuring a sustainable, safe daily water supply for the school students and staff. Students will each receive their own pack of crayons and coloring sheets to assist hand-eye coordination, creativity and emotional development.
