Lack of health education in schools and villages is a problem in Jinja.It has become an issue of national importance, government has recognized reproductive, maternal health as one of its top priorities.Women have a lot misinformation concerning reproductive and sexual health which poses serious health, social, economic problems.St. Monica’s Secondary School, most of the students have never participated in sexual and reproductive health education.The Project seeks to target youth and young women
Youth in secondary schools face challenges of early pregnancy, unprotected sexual activity, harassment from peers and teachers while mothers with increasingly produce a lot of kids in order to have a sizable family with a few children,mothers have an opportunity to improve their knowledge of family planning methods through training before having too many children By targeting these two groups, WORI hopes to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe, healthy decisions.
The project will enable women make informed decisions on child birth and up bringing and enable the youth learn how to deal with sexuality and growing up.This will enable the youth and young mothers make better decisions, reduce early pregnancies, improve understanding on misinformation concerning sexual and reproductive health and incidence of health problems, sexual rights violations, unwanted pregnancies, and and family planning methods in mafubira sub county, leading to improved lives.
50 women and 120 youth will benefit from the project. This will help improve the lives of women and their children in families, enable women participate in active development initiatives for there communities and lead to informed care full citizens of tomorrow. This will enable families to live a better life and ensure quality care, education health of children youth and the mothers in mafubira sub county.
