Although we don't yet have a major milestone to celebrate, our sewing project continues to build momentum through practical skills training and production.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of materials from Suit Suit Company, our trainees have been able to continue learning essential sewing techniques while producing reusable sanitary pads. Every pad made is another step towards creating sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions for girls in rural communities.
During recent training sessions, participants practiced measuring, cutting fabric, pinning patterns, overlocking edges, and assembling reusable pad sets. These hands-on skills are building confidence and preparing the women to generate income through future production opportunities.
For many of the women involved, this project represents far more than learning to sew. It is about gaining independence, creating opportunities close to home, and helping ensure that girls can attend school with dignity every month.
