Dear Friends,
Greetings from Azad India!
It is my pleasure to share our latest report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide sewing machine to a needy girl for self-reliance in Kishanganj district of Bihar. Your generous gift to provide a needy girl in Kishanganj with a sewing machine has been life-changing. Thank you for your support and for empowering girl to rise out of poverty.
Azad India Foundation had given sewing machine to Minnara from village Inderpur; Block Pothia. She belongs to Shershahbadi community where girls are usually not allowed to study or work. AIF team members revisited Minnara few days back. She is earning Rs. 700- 800 per month by stitching clothes within the village. She says, “I am happy to earn and contribute to my father’s income. The only problem I am facing right now is due to recent a flood that has made my village inaccessible for other people. Once this problem is solved I will be able to make much more.”
Azad India Foundation is running sewing center at the village Chattargach where 20 girls are learning basic stitching and tailoring in a new batch. It is six-month course following which a girl can start earning from her home. As most of the girls belong to marginalized sections of the community they are unable to buy machines. This project helps them to realize their dreams.
Thank you for giving Minnara chance to succeed! Your gift is making a big impact in not only her life but given hope others as well.
Do contribute to help us give life of dignity to more disadvantaged girls and please spread the word.
