Greetings from Azad India!
It is my pleasure to share our latest report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide sewing machine to a needy girl for self-reliance in Kishanganj district of Bihar. Your generous gift to provide a needy girl in Kishanganj with a sewing machine has been life-changing. Thank you for your support and for empowering girl to rise out of poverty.
Azad India Foundation has given sewing machine to Minnara from village Inderpur; Block Pothia.She is 20 years old girl from Shershahbadi community where girls are usually not allowed to study or work. She has 7 sisters and 3 brothers. Her father is a landless laborer. Minnara completed six month stitching and tailoring course at the center run by AIF.She says, “This machine will help me in becoming self reliant. I will be able to help my parents by contributing to family income. I am really thankful to AIF and the donor.”
Azad India Foundation is running sewing center at the village Chattargach where 30 girls are learning basic stitching and tailoring. It is six-month course following which a girl can start earning from her home. As most of the girls belong to marginalized sections of the community they are unable to buy machines. This project helps them to realize their dreams.
