Dear Friends,
Greetings from Azad India Foundation!
It is my pleasure to share our latest report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide sewing machine to a needy girl for self-reliance in Kishanganj district of Bihar. Thank you for your support and for empowering women to rise out of poverty. A sewing machine may be a simple gift but it is life changing for many women and their families.
As a part of the ongoing livelihood support program, Azad India Foundation had given sewing machine to Mantasa from village Motihara.
The project team visited her home to see the impact of the donation. With her sewing machine she is earning Rs 7000 (approx. $100) per month and support her family.
The project team also visited Tanzera, Nikhat and Sudipta to see their progress.
Tanzera from village Motihara is earning Rs 80-100 (approx. $1.5) per day from her sewing machine.
Nikhat from village Halamala is earning Rs 100-150 (approx. $2) per day supporting her family.
Sudipta from Kabir Chowk Kishanganj is earning Rs 6000 (approx. 95) per month.
They get orders from their own villages and also from nearby villages and local tailors also give them work.
Mantasa, Nikhat, Sudipta and Tanzera are thankful to the donors and Global Giving for their support.
Azad India Foundation is running three sewing centers at the village Chattargach,Bahadurganj and Kishanganj where 65 girls are learning basic stitching and tailoring. It is six-month course following which a girl can start earning from her home. As most of the girls belong to marginalized sections of the community they are unable to buy machines. This project helps them to realize their dreams.
Thank you for giving chance to succeed! Your gift is making a big impact in not only their life but given hope others as well. Even a small donation has a potential to empower the whole family to earn sustainable income.
Do contribute to help us give life of dignity to more disadvantaged girls and please spread the word.
Warm Regards,
