Setu Shiksha Jyoti Kendra Nithari - An Update

•Final examinations were completed on 2nd March 2011

•Final examination were declared on 7th March and the results are 58 children have scored above 80%, 32 children between 70-80% and 4 children between 50-60 % with an absenteeism of 4 children.

New Session started on 2nd April 2011. A new batch of 16 toddlers joined the nursery class and the vacancies in classes KG to 7th were filled up. The fourth year of operation also saw the school being upgraded to class 7 and the number of children increase from 94 to 124.

Considering the standards we have set for our selves, our challenges have increased as well as the trust of the parents who have being an encouragement by giving us a free hand in developing and grooming their children. This also means additional uniforms, books, and day to day running expenses - an additional of aprox USD 12,000 per annum

The school building has also been upgraded and so have the facilities:

–Number of rooms we have currently -16

–Number of teachers we have currently-10

–English Medium with classes from Nursery to Class Seven

–Children provided with free education, uniform, books, stationery and midday meals

–We are interested in formal education, hence the children go thru NCERT curriculum and are taught English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, General Knowledge, Social Studies, Moral Science, etc

- Provision has also been made for a library, activity room, a recreation room and also a better computer class.

We are committed to our mission and vision and shall strive to give the best as SETU Marches on its Journey ...............
