Dear Friends and Well Wishers of Makkala Jagriti,

I take immense pleasure in writing this letter to you, proud to share that 'Makkala Raaga', a prestigious and rare platform meant to provide underprivileged children an opportunity to perform in front of a huge audience to bring out their talents, was indeed a great success!
The programme was showcased at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on February 2nd, at two shows, 11 AM and 7 PM. The programme brought together more than 500 children from 12 Learning Centres of Makkala Jagriti located in Govt. schools, Community Centres, Youth Development Centres and Government Homes for Girls and Boys.
The children showcased the rich cultural, philosophical and geographical heritage of the state of Karnataka through an hour long breathtaking and spectacular performance, which left the audience absolutely speechless. It was certainly impossible to believe that 500 children could perform together in a single act and it has only been possible through the dedicated efforts of Janardhan Raj Urs, Cornucopia creations and the entire team of Makkala Jagriti, who invested dedicated efforts for over a month to make the show happen.
The morning show was inaugurated by the Principal Secretary of the Department of Education, Ms. Shalini Rajnish who appreciated Makkala Jagriti's efforts in strengthening the public education system in collaboration with the Department of Education. The evening show was graced by Ms. Divya Narayanappa, DCPO and the BEO of Halasuru, Ms. Prabha Alexander.
The programme was attended by more than 1600 people, whihc comprised of our donors, partner organisations, representatives of the Department of Education and Department of Women and Child Development, headmistresses and teachers of Govt. schools and children from the Govt schools.
Attached herewith are some pictures from the programme.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued encouragement. The programme has indeed set very high expectations from Makkala Jagriti and we ensure to strive to our full potential to support, enable and empower our children and youth.
