ERCO Energia S.A.S. were able to raise 113% of the amount requested. They will use the USD 1.700USD collected to develop a prototype of a rural electrification system capable of generating electricity from solar energy. The system is cheap, easy to transport and install, and generates enough energy to meet the basic needs of a family. They recently received the money and started developing the prototype and a user’s guide for the families that will use it. In around three months they will start testing the prototype with families of a municipality of Chocó, one of the poorest regions of Colombia.
