Our Senior volunteers make a difference.
The Cedar Village residents enjoy volunteering and giving back to their community. Many of our residents, average age 80 and older, were active community volunteers before moving to Cedar Village. Our senior volunteer program allows those individuals to continue their volunteer work throughout retirement. Individuals who are unfamiliar with volunteering, but want to start are always welcome, because at Cedar Village we believe it is never too late to do good for the community.
Our senior volunteers take a collaborative approach in planning their weekly projects and monthly outings. They travel to community organizations, such as the Ronald McDonald House, Crayons to Computers, group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities, and local homeless shelters. They always wear their purple shirts and their smiles while sharing stories and bonding with the individuals they are serving. We are proud of our senior volunteers and the difference they make in the community.
