By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Leyte and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project providing education to very poor girls affected by the typhoon. Without your kindness they will not be able to go to school. While our main aim is to send the students to college education, we realize that there are short technical courses running from 6 to 12 months that the students can enroll and hence find jobs early on. In this case we have decided to send 17 girls to technical schools sponsored by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority. The schools are located in the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc. The courses that the girls are taking includes culinary arts, computer hardware servicing, agriculture technology and tourism. Aside from their tuition, we also provided for their uniforms, weekly allowance, school supplies and technician's tools.
We will continue this important initiative as this will make the girls productive, provide them with a good future and help them economically.
Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
