Hundreds of vulnerable children returning from the Maman Rebecca Complex in eastern DR Congo risk missing school because their families cannot afford basic school supplies. This project will provide complete school kits, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, uniforms, and learning materials to 300 children. Donations will help keep children in school, improve learning outcomes, and give displaced and disadvantaged students a chance to build a brighter future.
In eastern DR Congo, many children from displaced and low-income families return to school with empty hands. Without school supplies, they face humiliation, absenteeism, poor academic performance, and a high risk of dropping out. Rising poverty, displacement, and limited family income force parents to choose between food and education. As a result, many vulnerable children lose opportunities that could help them escape poverty.
This project will provide 300 vulnerable children with complete school kits containing backpacks, notebooks, pens, uniforms, and essential learning materials. Teachers and community leaders will help identify the most vulnerable children. Parents will also participate in education awareness sessions to encourage regular school attendance. By removing financial barriers, children can return to class prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Access to quality education begins with having the tools needed to learn. By providing school kits, this project will reduce school dropout rates, improve academic achievement, and increase school attendance among vulnerable children. Over time, educated children are more likely to secure employment, support their families, and contribute to peaceful and sustainable community development in eastern DR Congo.
