Dear Friend,
El Shaddai’s programme to support 100 girls from slum communities in Goa focuses on ensuring that vulnerable girls have access to education, safety, dignity, and opportunities for a better future. Many children living in disadvantaged communities face barriers to attending school, including financial difficulties, lack of educational resources, family circumstances, and challenging living conditions. This programme aims to remove these barriers and help girls remain in school throughout the year.
During the reporting period, El Shaddai continued working with children and families in vulnerable communities to encourage school attendance and provide the support needed for girls to continue their education. Assistance may include school-related expenses, educational materials, uniforms, school supplies, meals, transportation support, and other essential needs that can prevent children from attending school regularly.
Education is an important pathway towards breaking the cycle of poverty. By supporting girls to attend school for a full year, El Shaddai gives them the opportunity to develop knowledge, confidence, communication skills, and greater awareness of their rights and opportunities. Regular education also helps children build positive relationships, develop discipline, and prepare for future employment and further studies.
The programme also focuses on the wellbeing and personal development of the girls. Through awareness sessions, mentoring, recreational activities, life-skills education, and encouragement, girls are supported to understand their value and potential. They are encouraged to dream about their future, develop confidence, make safe and informed choices, and believe that their circumstances do not have to determine their future.
El Shaddai also works with parents, caregivers, schools, community leaders, and local support networks to encourage families to prioritize girls’ education. Regular communication and follow-up help identify challenges that may affect school attendance and allow appropriate support to be provided. By involving families and communities, the programme seeks to create a supportive environment where girls can continue their education and achieve their goals.
Through this initiative, El Shaddai aims to do more than simply send girls to school. We seek to give 100 vulnerable girls the opportunity to learn, grow, develop confidence, and build a brighter future. Every school day represents an opportunity for a girl to gain knowledge, discover her abilities, and move one step closer to becoming independent and empowered.
Sending a girl to school is an investment in her future. When a girl receives an education, she gains more than academic knowledgeshe gains confidence, choices, and the opportunity to shape her own life. By supporting 100 Goa slum girls for a year, we are helping create pathways towards greater dignity, independence, and hope.
Give 100 girls from vulnerable communities in Goa the opportunity to attend school for a full year and build a safer, brighter, and more independent future through education.
With gratitude,
The El Shaddai Family
