Dear Donors,
I want to personally thank you for your kind donation to Candles of Hope Uganda. With your generous support we are better placed to change the lives of those in our community. You are making this happen, and Candles of Hope Uganda and our community are grateful.
With your donation, our program has been able to provide food to the neediest families in Rwakabunga Village, Kyanamira Sub-County, Muyunbu, Kabale District. In Kabale municipality alone we have over 200 motorbike taxi drivers who earn $2 (£1.60) a day. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the government banned public transport since March 2020 as part of measures taken to slow the spread of the virus. For those living under absolute poverty, like these taxi drivers, they do not eat agood daite. Ongoing lockdowns are unsustainable in their current forms and therefore your donations are especially important to us.
We are pleased to inform you that with your donations we have supplied 50 families and 30 motorbike taxi drivers with food in Rwakabunga Village, Kyanamira Sub-County, Muyunbu, Kabale District. I have attached photos of the families and taxi drivers receiving matooke, a staple food crop in Uganda, purchased with your kind donation. In addition, 150 kgs of beans were purchased and have been delivered to the local chairman of the community. He will divide this into 3 kg bags and distribute to 50 families.

Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support.
Sincerely,
Zake A. Tumwesigye
