Building Competence through Confidence! We believe in education for All! That is why, with your help, Candles of Hope will provide school fees, lunches, and learning materials to more than 2000 underprivileged girl students of the rural regions of Kabale and Kasese district, so that they may be able to develop their educational standard. This project will provide marginalized children an opportunity to be educated so they can contribute to the development of society.
According to our survey, children in the age group of 6-14 leave school every year in Uganda for various reasons. They face all sorts of problems to get an education. These children live in heartbreaking and deplorable conditions due to their families being disadvantaged from the start. Their guardians are not able to afford school spending leaving intelligent and ambitious children, who wish to further themselves in the world and their communities, out of the school system.
Children thrive when they learn and master new skills. We must give children every opportunity to build confidence through competence. Distributing learning materials and providing school fees and lunches to underprivileged children will help achieve equal opportunities for education. We aim to help students become conscious towards education which in turn aims to reduce the problem of school drop-out. Parents will be guided and entrusted to motivate their children to get a school education.
Children will receive a good education allowing them to realize their full potential which will have a positive impact on society. Education is the key to lifting them and their families out of the vicious cycle of poverty. Importantly, it also ensures that the next generation gets far better parenting and therefore a better life. Education gives people hope that they can improve their lot in life. Help us light the Candle of Hope for these children, their families, and society!
