Another school year is ending.
From the 233 students at the school, 40 from the 4th year went through the national exam called BEPC. This exam is needed in order to further studies in secondary school.
The results are encouraging with 29 out of 40 passing the exam (72.5%). This is particularly positif when local schools got only12 % success.
At the end of the year it is also the analysis of the results of each students to see if they can pass in the next year.
First year: 1 boy did not make it.
Second year: 1 boy and 4 girls did not make it
Third year: 1 boy and 6 girls did not make it
Fourth year: 4 boys were exluded
Fifth year: 1 boy was excluded
Age of the 270 students attending the school in 2019-2020 will go from 12 years to 22 years old. The LAP being a boarding school, the challenge will be the control / keep busy all those students.
We thank you all for your continuous support and hope that you can promote this project among your friends and family.

School results:
This week is the end of the second semester. All classes have rather good scholar results. The 4th year is a exam year. Students went through a mock exam. Out of the 40 students, 25 got passed, 13 got a chance to go to asecond round and only 2 did not get this chance.
News about students:
Sadly we lost one students in the fourth year. He passed away from sickle cell disease. A blood desease affecting only black people. We had a meeting with all students to discuss the death of this student. We will plant a tree in his memory.
Also we were chocked when a young girl of the first class did not show up after the end of the year vacation because she was pregnant. We learn later than she had been rape by her uncle. We have allerted the authorities. She was 5th of her class. We haev tried to have her back in school, but the parents are too ashame to send her back.
Other news:
Since January we have a new husbandery teacher. It shows with the devlopment of the animals activities. We have 4 new cows and we are starting to build a chicken coop for 100 hens.
The gardens are also in full production and the vegetables are used in the cantine of the students.
We have harvested the 22 hives we have on the LAP and have collected over 100kg of honey.
The LAP is still growing and we are looking for funding for new infrastructure: silo, drop irrigation system, animals food production... Do you know people who could help?
Thanks for your continuous support.
We are already at the end of the first quarter of the school year 2018-2019.
The 235 students (125 girls and 110 boys) are all doing good. It is not a small thing to feed them. We grind 600kg of corn per week as part of the food for the students!
In order to motivate the students to do some extra curriculum activities, we have established a point system. The points can then be exchanged against a gift. Gifts ranged from books, backpack, foot ball, shoes....
One of the activity we have started is to produce neem oil. We have made a video to show you the process. Students learn the process, they are producing something which can be use in their gardens against insects or in soap manufactured by a sister organisation.
The gardens are started to produce. We have harvested 650 kg of zucchini from the garden of the 5th students. Those are cooked for the meals of the students.
We will be able to give you some information on grades of the first quarter beginning of january 2019.
We would like to wish you a healthy and peaceful new year.
