Everything starts at the beginning! This year we started a "Send a Child to School Project" and it is a beginning. We have been able to raise $357.00 which is equivalent to 3 months of school for one of our students. So, its a beginning. The ultimate goal will be to provide scholarships for as many children as possible. Currently, Ambergris Caye Elementary School has 13 students on scholarships. This means that of the 94 students enrolled 14% are fortunate enough to come to our school because someone was kind enough to make sure they had the funding.
Every year there are children who come to us with the financial need of a scholarship and many show the academic promise to be awarded a scholarship to attend Ambergris Caye Elementary School. However, each year the number grows and it is getting increasingly more difficult to meet the financial commitment required to fund these scholarship students. So, we are reaching out to you, our Global Giving family to help these children stay in a school where learning is the primary focus and all decisions are based in the best interest of the child.
We will even attach your funds to a specific child if you so desire. You can make monthly donations and you will recieve mid-term and end of term reports on your sponsored child so you know how your child is progressing. Or, you can make one time donations anytime during the year and know your funding is going toward keeping a child in school. However you decide to contribute to this project it will be recieved with heartfelt thanks.
There is no better investment in the future than in the education of a child. Children are the future!
