One good thing is that we helped a group of students graudate from school. We provided support and they were given Haiti First certificates. In addition we are currently working on securing a permnanent space to build a hosptial or community center. We are still trying to figure out how to get the computers, desks and chairs to the school. We are monitoring the events in Haiti and hope we will be able to send the supplies soon to this community. In the meantime, we are using the volunteers, teachers and staff that live there to help their surrounding community and bring awareness to mobile clinics.
We have also collected tables, chairs and desktops for Haiti. We have had trouble shipping items due to lack of stability at this current time. We have adjusted to the current needs of the Haitian people and doing more mobile clinics and offering learning sessions for the health workers.
In the last few months there has been increase in violence and major unrest disrupting traveling and other usual activities. The road are not safe and there is a high risk of kidnapping. Our agents still manage to move around but in a limited scope with a lot of precaution in transporting goods for our clinics.
We have a great opportunity to further help the community in Haiti and we want to continue to do the work! We hope that Haiti gets better soon.
Thank you for your support.
