BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Caribbean Education Foundation Paul Bogle Scholarship Recipient, Ravorn, who graduated from Calabar High School in Kingston, Jamaica! We are so PROUD of Ravorn’s tremendous accomplishment!
A high school diploma is an important step in preparing a young person to live an independent, secure and happy life and to contribute to Jamaica's economic competitiveness as part of an educated, innovative workforce.
In 2010, at 12 years old, Ravorn was awarded the CEF Paul Bogle Scholarship based on high academics and financial need, to attend high school. He graduated from Duhaney Park Primary School in Kingston, Jamaica. Ravorn’s primary school is streamed where bright students are placed at the top and other students in descending streams. Ravorn was placed in the fourth stream and not expected to pass his exam for a top school. He proved everyone wrong by passing for Calabar High School! He obtained 96% in Mathematics and 90% in Science on the GSAT Exam. Ravorn received many awards: Most Outstanding Student in His Class, English Language, Science, Religious Education and Most Disciplined Student. Since 2010, each year CEF has renewed Ravorn’s Paul bogle Scholarship, so he could continue to attend high school. Five years later, Ravorn stands as an impressive young man!
Despite incredibly challenging economic and academic circumstances in the inner-city community of Riverton City where he lives, Ravorn tried his best to focus on school. Ravorn is now in Sixth Form and plans to attend University to major in Business Administration. Having attained 1’s in Business Administration, Principles of Accounts and Mathematics on the Caribbean Examination Council (CSEC), we have no doubt Ravorn will excel as a Business Major at university! We wish Ravorn the very best in Sixth Form and his journey to university! We hope that Ravorn keeps focus and becomes a positive force in his community, Jamaica and the world. CEF will continue to renew Ravorn’s Scholarship for the next 2 years of Sixth Form, as long as we have funding to do so. You may help with funding here:
A “SPECIAL THANK YOU” to our CEF Education Ambassador & Advisor, Claudia Higgs-Donovan, who is sponsoring Ravorn’s CEF Paul Bogle Scholarship! We truly appreciate Ms. Higgs-Donovan’s immense and invaluable support to CEF, our Scholars and team!
THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to the Caribbean Education Foundation (CEF)! Our CEF Scholars such as Ravorn graduating from High School is the result of your generosity.
