As part of the Siembra CORPELUVA program and under the Zulia Guerrero scholarship program, we are sharing the progress of the Seeds that Last project: Sponsor a Child to Stay in School during the period April–July 2025.
Results achieved: Thanks to the support of donors at GlobalGiving, we have received 14 donations, 9 of which cover a full year for 9 students in grades 9, 10, and 11. This program seeks to ensure that those closest to graduation do not drop out due to lack of resources. The beneficiary families received support with tuition, uniforms, school kits, and psychosocial support.
Activities carried out:
Distribution of scholarships and school kits to beneficiaries.
Four workshops on vocational guidance, self-esteem, and emotional support, with the participation of 47 families.
Social media campaigns and company visits to learn more about our work.
Dropout prevention: No scholarship recipients dropped out this semester.
Indicators as of July 30, 2025:
Total donations received: 14
Scholarships completed: 9
Beneficiary children: 14 (9 with full scholarships and 5 with partial support)
Families connected to workshops: 47
Institutional visits from partners: 6
Inspiring stories:
Valeria, a 10th-grade student, says:
"Thanks to the scholarship, I didn't have to drop out of school. Now I dream of graduating and studying nursing."
The mother of Juan Sebastián (11th-grade) wrote to us:
"The support came at the most difficult time. Now my son will be able to finish high school."
Next steps: Our goal for this year remains to reach 147 full scholarships, as there are still 147 children at imminent risk of dropping out. Without your support, these students could miss school in the coming months.
Our commitment:
We will continue to join forces through GlobalGiving, local campaigns, and visits to institutions so that more children can stay in school. We are deeply grateful to every person and company that has believed in this project and allowed us to sow hope in the lives of our children.
Each scholarship is a seed that sprouts and transforms lives.
