During the first quarter of 2026, our project Seeds that Stay: Sponsor a Child to Stay in School continued to protect the educational journey of children and adolescents in highly vulnerable communities in Aguablanca District, Cali, Colombia.
From January to March 2026, we achieved 10 real and active sponsorships, meaning that 10 students received direct educational support that helped them remain in school during the beginning of the academic year.
Of these 10 sponsorships:
This quarter also confirmed something very meaningful for us: 3 recurring donors who began supporting in 2025 continued their commitment in 2026 through GlobalGiving. Their continued trust is deeply valuable because it gives students and families more stability and hope.
What did this support make possible?
Our sponsorship model works with immediate activation:
This means that every donation was translated into a real, traceable, and timely educational benefit for a student.
GlobalGiving support in Q1 2026
The active sponsorship model on GlobalGiving is USD 35 per month per student.
Between January and March 2026, the support through GlobalGiving included:
This represents an estimated USD 770 raised and/or committed through GlobalGiving by the end of March 2026.
Why this matters
For the families we serve, these contributions are not just financial support. They mean:
One family was at immediate risk of not completing their child’s enrollment because they lacked the minimum resources required. Thanks to a one-time donation received through GlobalGiving in January, that student was able to start the school year on time.
Another donor chose to sponsor one student for the entire school year, creating stability for a family that had been living with constant uncertainty about whether their child would be able to remain in school.
Challenges we are still facing
Although these first results are encouraging, the need remains urgent.
Our 2026 goal is to progressively protect 200 students who are at real risk of dropping out of school due to economic hardship and social vulnerability.
During the first quarter:
This tells us that while the project has real impact and donor response, we must continue strengthening our visibility, storytelling, and outreach strategy.
What comes next
In the second quarter of 2026, we will focus on:
We are deeply grateful to every donor who has already joined this journey.
Because of you, 10 students are still in school today.
Every child who stays in school is a story that did not stop.
Thank you for helping us keep planting permanence, dignity, and hope.
