We are writingto express our sincere gratitude for the $50 we received through GlobalGiving. This grant has provided crucial support for our vocational training program in tailoring, specifically benefiting vulnerable teenage mothers. Though this could be viewed as modest, this grant has significantly contributed to our ongoing efforts to empower these young women, equipping them with valuable skills for a brighter future.

Our program addresses a critical need, providing a pathway to self-sufficiency for teenage mothers affected by armed conflict and who often face immense societal challenges, limited educational opportunities and economic hardship. Our vocational training in tailoring has so far offered not just a skill, but a potential tangible means to generate income giving the conflict context.

The support so far from GlobalGiving has been strategically used to enhance the learning environment and provide essential resources for our trainees. Specifically, the funds were allocated towards the purchase of:

• Essential consumables that are constantly in demand such as thread in various colors, needles (both hand and machine). These seemingly small items are fundamental to hands-on learning and practical application, allowing each mother to actively participate in tailoring exercises without the burden of purchasing their own materials. Prior to this we faced shortages which interrupted the flow of training.
• A portion of the grants was used to acquire a variety of fabric scraps. These scraps are invaluable for initial practice, allowing the mothers to experiment with different stitches, seams and patterns without the fear of wasting more expensive material. This has built confidence and mastery of important techniques before moving on to creating complete garments.

Finally, this grant has reinforced the message to our program participants that their efforts are valued and supported, and knowing that resources are available for their training has fostered a sense of encouragement and dedication. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and belief in the potential of these resilient young girls.
