Desde febrero de 2026, el emprendimiento colectivo de mujeres tseltales en San Pedro Tulijá avanzó hacia una etapa más práctica y operativa, enfocada en el uso de maquinaria, pruebas de producción y adecuación del espacio donde se desarrollará el proyecto productivo.

El 3 de febrero de 2026 se realizó una visita junto a Joan, aliado de ASL España, con el objetivo de conocer el avance del emprendimiento y hacer entrega del tostador de semillas y molino eléctrico que permitirán iniciar la elaboración del cereal comunitario. Durante la jornada se realizaron las primeras pruebas de tostado y se brindó una explicación técnica sobre el funcionamiento de las máquinas. Las mujeres compartieron con el visitante su experiencia organizativa junto a IXIM desde 2019 y expresaron que este emprendimiento representa una oportunidad para fortalecer el bienestar de sus familias y generar alternativas económicas para su comunidad. Actualmente el grupo está conformado por 16 mujeres y continúa abierto a la integración de nuevas participantes jóvenes interesadas en aprender y sumarse al proceso.

Posteriormente, el 9 de marzo de 2026, el equipo de IXIM sostuvo una reunión de seguimiento con las integrantes del colectivo para revisar propuestas relacionadas con la remodelación y adecuación del espacio productivo. Durante esta visita se tomaron medidas y fotografías para compartirlas con el arquitecto voluntario que colaborará en el diseño del área de trabajo. Asimismo, las participantes continuaron realizando prácticas de tostado y molido, fortaleciendo sus capacidades técnicas y apropiándose gradualmente del proceso de producción. Las mujeres manifestaron entusiasmo y disposición para continuar fortaleciendo el emprendimiento de manera colectiva.

El 25 de marzo de 2026 se realizó una nueva jornada de pruebas enfocadas en el tostado y molido de diferentes semillas, buscando avanzar en la definición de la fórmula del cereal. Durante la actividad se presentó una falla técnica en el extractor del tostador, ocasionada por un problema eléctrico. Aunque inicialmente esto generó preocupación entre las participantes, el inconveniente fue solucionado rápidamente con apoyo del proveedor, permitiendo continuar con las actividades. Esta experiencia fortaleció la confianza del grupo en el manejo de los equipos y en la capacidad colectiva para enfrentar y resolver dificultades técnicas durante el proceso de aprendizaje.

Finalmente, el 7 de abril de 2026 se realizó una visita técnica junto al arquitecto Carlos y el maestro albañil Arnulfo para revisar las condiciones estructurales del espacio donde operará el emprendimiento. Durante la visita se evaluó la infraestructura existente y se avanzó en propuestas de remodelación y construcción de módulos de trabajo adecuados para la producción. Paralelamente, las mujeres aprovecharon el encuentro para continuar practicando el tostado de semillas de maíz y cacao utilizando insumos aportados por ellas mismas, reflejando su compromiso con el aprendizaje y la apropiación del proyecto. También destacó la integración de nuevas mujeres jóvenes interesadas en participar activamente en el emprendimiento, fortaleciendo así la continuidad y sostenibilidad del grupo.

Since February 2026, the collective enterprise of Tseltal women in San Pedro Tulijá has progressed into a more practical and operational phase, focused on the use of machinery, production testing, and the adaptation of the space where the productive project will be developed.

On February 3, 2026, a visit was carried out together with Joan, an ally from ASL Spain, with the objective of learning about the progress of the enterprise and delivering the seed roaster and electric grinder that will allow the group to begin producing the community cereal product. During the visit, the first roasting tests were conducted, and a technical explanation was provided regarding the operation of the machines. The women shared with the visitor their organizational experience working alongside IXIM since 2019 and expressed that this enterprise represents an opportunity to strengthen their families’ well-being and generate economic alternatives for their community. The group is currently made up of 16 women and remains open to the integration of new young participants interested in learning and joining the process.

Subsequently, on March 9, 2026, the IXIM team held a follow-up meeting with the members of the collective to review proposals related to the remodeling and adaptation of the productive space. During this visit, measurements and photographs were taken to share with the volunteer architect who will collaborate on the design of the work area. In addition, the participants continued practicing roasting and grinding processes, strengthening their technical capacities and gradually becoming more familiar with the production process. The women expressed enthusiasm and willingness to continue strengthening the enterprise collectively.

On March 25, 2026, another work session was carried out focused on roasting and grinding different types of seeds in order to continue refining the cereal formula. During the activity, a technical issue occurred with the roaster’s extractor due to an electrical problem. Although this initially caused concern among the participants, the issue was quickly resolved with the support of the equipment supplier, allowing the activities to continue. This experience strengthened the group’s confidence in operating the equipment and in their collective ability to face and resolve technical challenges throughout the learning process.

Finally, on April 7, 2026, a technical visit was conducted together with architect Carlos and master builder Arnulfo to review the structural conditions of the space where the enterprise will operate. During the visit, the existing infrastructure was evaluated, and progress was made on proposals for remodeling and constructing suitable work modules for production. At the same time, the women took advantage of the gathering to continue practicing the roasting of corn and cacao seeds using ingredients contributed by themselves, reflecting their commitment to learning and ownership of the project. The integration of new young women interested in actively participating in the enterprise was also noteworthy, further strengthening the continuity and sustainability of the group.
