Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project providing vegetable and tree crop seeds to poor farming families. This project is very important with farmers unable to procure high-quality seeds in order to increase the production in their farms. This reporting period we focus our effort in the growing and promotion of dragon fruit as a high-valued crop wherein farmers will be able to increase their incomes. Dragon fruit plant is one of our choice because it belongs to the cactus family and it produces fruit that is sought after here and price at about US Dollars per kilo is very high. We were able to convince an initial of 42 farmers to start dragon fruit production in their farms. Later on we will form them into a dragon fruit growers association in order for them to access services from the government.
