Since 2019, Semillero Digital seeks to generate genuine social transformation through digital education and Employability. Young people living in social and economic vulnerable situations have the possibility of becoming experts in Digital marketing or E-commerce. They receive technical training, and have also access to several complementary workshops to improve their employability profile, getting closer to their first digital, formal and high quality job.
In Argentina, 1 out of 2 young people is born into a poor household, only 4 out of 10 have access to formal and quality employment, and just 1 out of 10 learns a trade. Meanwhile, the digital industry experiences exponential growth, creating a high demand and a lack of skilled professionals. Our project addresses this gap by leveraging the needs of the digital market and genuinely harvests social transformation through training in digital skills, aiming to change young peoples lives.
Young boys and girls in vulnerable situations have the opportunity to become E-commerce or Community Manager specialists by participating in year-and-a-half long courses. They also complement their employability profile assisting to special workshops (making resumes, Excel, soft skills). From the employability department and through partnerships with multiple companies, we seek high-quality job positions for the students, enabling them to enhance their perspectives and quality of life.
More than 100 students have already acquired formal and high-quality employment, improving their life conditions. We continue working so that each year, more young people can, in a short time, access better work conditions through digital education, promoting genuine social transformation, and spreading it around.
