We have been busy, all of this thanks to you. You have made our efforts possible by donating to our program.
Environmental education and ecosystem restoration.
Our environmental education program has been busy; we have had 25 school sessions in 9 schools, including 265 children from all these schools.
Also, our environmental education groups have been meeting weekly for a total o 73 sessions distributed among five communities. 60 highly motivated children have been meeting weekly and have been learning how to become
In our regenerative agriculture program, we are working with 19 families selected for their commitment and interest. The workshops include bio-inputs, agroecological pest prevention and control, comprehensive farms, nurseries, product processing, healthy eating, internship, and Drake agroecological products fair.
We have held two workshops: a meeting, socialization, and exchange of seeds, as well as a workshop on prevention and agroecological control of pests.
Regarding our reforestation efforts, we have planted 624 trees during five field days. We plan to produce at least 1000 more before the end of the year.
Since the pandemic began, the Corcovado Foundation staff and volunteers have delivered food 26 times for 1,127 packages. The gratitude and relief the families express every time our team shows up is a massive reward for us.
During these six months, we also held a castration campaign for 37 dogs and cats in the community of Progreso.
Our team has supported the ECOINS campaign to help the community collect recyclable materials and exchange them for goods. Also, our local liaison has worked hard to approve the High School building blueprints and permits. This is a considerable effort since the Ministry of Education has a huge bureaucracy.
Since the beginning of the year, we have had 22 volunteers who have helped families with regenerative agriculture, planted trees, delivered food packages, and learned lots about conservation efforts.
Thank you for make all this possible.
