To ensure local students have safe, comfortable, and clean learning environments, regular maintenance in schools is essential. Over the next 6 months, Waves of Hope will focus on essential repairs for two local elementary schools in our community. The goal is to complete two full roof replacements plus both schools are in need of repairs to cracked ceramic tiles plus many other general repairs. Supporting these projects helps ensure the education and development of hundreds of local students.
The two local schools are in need of significant maintenance including news roofs. The locals schools do not receive any government funding for maintenance so over time they start to break down and deteriorate. With such a close proximity to the ocean, the salt air bears a heavy burden rusting out the tin roofs. We believe that while it is meaningful to build new school houses, the real work comes in the form of the long term maintenance, care and support for the schools we provide.
The maintenance works will restore the properties to a much improved condition. This will create both a safer and more inspiring opportunity for the students to learn.
It all starts with the children. We need safe, vibrant, well supplied and supported schools to really give the children a chance to learn and grow.
