Some great news! We just delivered new textbooks to a local school here in Erdenet for grades 1-12. The school was really short on some books, especially some of the English curriculum we provided. Some of the classes had 3-4 books per 20+ students so the teachers and kids are very happy having more books per class. 950 students and 84 teachers will benefit from these books. We also have identified our next project site. A school in a small town about 25km outside of Erdenet. They have nearly 1,000 students as well and have hardly any recent reading books for their students. They also have a branch library at the local dormitory for students who's families live in the countryside and will organize rotating books through there so students and community members can benefit from the books during after school hours. We're very excited about this new project! The school has also asked Edurelief to help them setup a few wireless networks around the school for their teachers and students so they can do research and learning online in different areas around the school. Pretty slow connection to be sharing but they will be very happy with it. We also visited the Central Library here in Erdenet and will partner with them to renovate and add new materials to their family resource room. It's a place where families can come and learn and their young children can play at the same time. They have very few toys and books and some generous supporters have been preparing some toys for this project. The shipping company we use from the USA has agreed to ship several big boxes of materials for free for this project. All around great start for the spring and much more to come in the summer and fall. Thanks for your continued support!
