SESSO Project Report - May 2022

Dear Project Supporters,

The purpose of this report is to update you on how your dollars have continued to make an impact in the lives of the children you are supporting, and also to express again our deepest thanks for your generosity. Without you, the work SESSO does would not be possible.

Student Highlight: Moving on to high school!

SESSO would like to highlight three of our SESSO students who recently sat for the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) examination. This exam is taken every year by 8th grade students in South Sudan who have generally performed well in school, and a passing grade allows them access to secondary education (high school). The exam is issued by the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MOGEI), through the National Examinations Council (NEC).

Three of our SESSO-Sponsored students (Abraham, Amour and Nyamuoch) recently sat for their National Exams, and all 3 candidates passed their exams! This is a milestone achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder as they move on to their secondary education and begin 9th grade this month! Included with this report are copies of the certificates for Abraham and Amour… SESSO is still waiting to receive the certificate for Nyamuoch.

General Update on SESSO-Sponsored Students:

  • For the 2022-2023 school year, SESSO is sponsoring a total of 6 students, ranging from grades 6 to 10. The school year runs from May, 2022 to March, 2023.
  • SESSO has just recently paid for the upcoming school year (2022-2023) in full for all 6 currently-sponsored students. At this time, SESSO is not adding additional students, as caution is being taken not to take on too many new students that may not receive sufficient funding to continue to support for the remainder of their education. This is something that is constantly under review, and we will revisit this as we explore new fundraising strategies and identify additional donor pools.

Plans Moving Forward:

  • We at SESSO would like to take this opportunity once again to thank all of our donors for making the funding of these students’ education possible. With your help, these orphans are receiving a new hope for their future, and we are confident that this hope and opportunity you have helped give them will allow them to make big changes for the future of South Sudan.
  • As the 2022-2023 school year gets underway, we will continue to provide updates on the students’ progress. Please also feel free to visit our Facebook page for more detailed updates and information, and feel free to reach out to us anytime!

Your generosity is making a difference in these children’s lives more than you can imagine. We thank you for taking this journey with us, and invite you to stay with us and watch the fruits of your generosity over the years as these students grow up.
