SESSO Project Report - December 2021

Grades and Teacher Comments - Abraham
Grades and Teacher Comments - Abraham

Dear Project Supporters,

The purpose of this report is to update you on how your dollars have made an impact in the lives of the children you are supporting, and also to express again our deepest thanks for your generosity. Without you, the work SESSO does would not be possible.

Student Highlight: Abraham

Abraham has been a SESSO-sponsored student since 2018. He is in the 2nd trimester of his 8th grade year. Abraham has consistently done very well in school, and he has been chosen as our highlight story for this quarter’s project report. Not only does he consistently do well in school, but he has earned the top grades in his class of 44 students for the past 5 trimesters, including the one that just ended this month. His studies include English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science & Agriculture, and KiSwahili (one of the two official languages of the East African Community (EAC) countries… the other being English). Abraham is also serving in the school as head prefect for the 2021/2022 school year. His teachers also consistently compliment on his outstanding performance, and we have included copies of a few of these comments in the project report photos.

General Update on SESSO-Sponsored Students:

  • For the 2021-2022 school year, SESSO is sponsoring a total of 6 students, ranging from grades 5 to 9. The school year runs from May, 2021 to March, 2022.
  • All 6 of the SESSO-sponsored students have consistently received both good grades and good marks for conduct. SESSO volunteers who attend the parent-teacher conferences for the children have given multiple reports that teachers have commented on the students’ excellent conduct and academics.

Plans Moving Forward:

  • We at SESSO would like to take this opportunity once again to thank all of our donors for helping us have a successful fundraising campaign this past September, 2021! Because of you, we were able to raise enough money to fund the equivalent of 1 year of school for 10 students! This allows us to fund the remainder of the school year for the current students, and consider adding more students for the 2022-2023 school year! If you visit our project page in the near future, you will likely see that we have updated the page to continue to fundraise for these students… not only for possibly increasing the number of SESSO-sponsored students, but also to raise money for upcoming school years for sponsored students. Once SESSO commits to fund a students’ schooling, it is our plan to continue to sponsor that student annually through graduation of the 12th grade.
  • As the 2021-2022 school year progresses, we will continue to provide updates on the students’ progress. And later in 2022, we will update donors on the number of new students SESSO is sponsoring for the new school year.

Please feel free to take a look at the photos included with this report, which include Abraham's grades and teacher remarks, as well as thank you notes from each of the 6 SESSO students to all of you who have supported them. Additionally, there is a video link included near the end of the report that was assembled JUST FOR YOU - OUR DONORS as a thank you for your support.

Your generosity is making a difference in these children’s lives more than you can imagine. We thank you for taking this journey with us, and invite you to stay with us and watch the fruits of your generosity over the years as these students grow up.
