DIL School Zarbaig, Dir
The DIL Zarbaig School in Dir, has only one classroom and 137 students eager to attain an education. Out of the 137 students, 99 are girls which is remarkable given the socio-political condition in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The school desperately needs a playground and safe classrooms for the remaining students.
At the moment, children study in makeshift classrooms in open space which can accommodate only three classes. As a result, the girls will have to attend another school after passing the 5th grade in April 2014. Unfortunately, for many girls whose parents cannot afford private schooling, this could mean staying at home. These children bear the harsh winters under the temporary shelter but are determined to attend school.
DIL UK schools ensure students receive quality education through a student centered approach. They place an emphasis on critical thinking skills for students to succeed in the global market place.
With your support, the teachers at DIL Trust UK Zarbaig school received laptops and training to aid them during their lessons. They use these to download lessons to make more visual presentations to the class.
“The students benefit more from this kind of learning, through visuals they comprehended more” – Zarbaig Teacher.
The teachers also received mobile phones with downloaded lesson plans for English and Math.
We would like to Thank You and hope you continue your efforts towards eradicating illiteracy in rural areas of Pakistan.
