The School for Peace hosted its Agents of Change for Spatial Justice course for tour guides, bringing together eight Jewish and eight Palestinian participants to explore the history and ongoing legacy of the Nakba.
Developed in partnership with the Israeli nonprofit Zochrot, the course creates space for participants to engage with difficult histories that are often absent from mainstream narratives.
Zochrot (a Hebrew word meaning “remembering”) is an Israeli organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the Palestinian Nakba— the displacement of Palestinians in 1948—and to encouraging dialogue, historical recognition, and shared understanding between Israelis and Palestinians
Tourism in Israel is highly state-regulated, leaving little room for critical perspectives. This unique program encourages participants to examine the historical landscape together and reflect on questions of memory, responsibility, and repair
