This project will construct a school for 500 border conflict victims in Isfara City of Tajikistan bordering with Kyrgyzstan. Three schools were destroyed in this city during the armed conflict at the Tajik-Kyrgyz border on September 14-17, 2022. The school will resume the access of 500 local children to quality education. Armed border conflict broke out on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border on September 14, 2022. As a result of this conflict, 71 civilians, including a woman in her 8th month of pregnancy, three children at the age of 6 and 7, and military officers were killed, hundreds of people were wounded, three schools and one mosque were destroyed, and an ambulance was fully burnt by the Kyrgyz' army artillery fire. Thus, about 2000 school children have been left without proper access to education.
The project will restore the access to education for 500 students - victims of the border conflict in Somoniyon Village of Isfara City of Tajikistan by constructing a school with 8 classrooms and possibly with one meeting room. This will enable to upbring the students in the spirit of peace and reconciliation and support them to grow and develop themselves in the future.
The long-term impact of the project is the sustainability of access of the local young people in Somoniyon Village of Isfara City of Tajikistan to quality education and helping them identify their future, contribute to the development of their local community and the country, increased instruction and decreased poverty, discrimination and extremism, educated youth would make their contribution towards peace and stability of not only Tajikistan, but also the region and the world.
