This project will grant basic literacy for 14 orphaned and vulnarable children living in a township in Windhoek, Namibia. This is the only way to give them a chance for a better future.
The school system is very poor in Namibia, there are not enough schools, the existing ones are poorly equipped and teachers are not trained properly. Unfortunately there is also a huge problem of absenteeism among the teaching staff in the public schools. It is fundamental to send the children to a qualified school. This project will grant our Mammadu children the uniforms and fees they need to attend a well-qualified, private school.
We provide transport to the school and back to the community they live. The kids also have the option to attend extra curricular activities organised by the school in order not to miss anything. After school/activities, the children are assisted by professional volunteers with their homework so they can practise what they have learned at school.
Educating these children will help them in finding better job opportunities in the future to raise out of poverty, and built up their families health and well-being.
