This project provides fees for underprivileged children, many of whom are AIDS and civil war orphans, to attend school. This project also pays salaries for teachers in two rural schools in Uganda.
These children have all experienced challenges most of us can only imagine: hunger, violence, HIV/AIDS deaths in their families, disease, etc. Rural populations have less access to education, health care, and opportunities for improvement. At the source of all of these problems is a lack of education. We provide them with the opportunity to improve their lives by allowing them to attend school. We include teacher fees in this, since without qualified teachers education is impossible.
We pay school fees for each sponsored child for one full academic year. We also pay teachers' salaries. "The inability to pay school fees is a major obstacle for many children in their efforts to seek a better life for themselves."
The project will liberate students from the cycle of poverty by providing them with an education to meet the demands of a changing world.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
