Swimming lessons at the Love to Langa Swimming Academy are going very well so far! Most of the children have never been in the water before, so they have to acclimate slowly. Here are a few updates on our sponsored students, thanks to your donations. Please see the link for a video report from the Head Coach, Craig.
Zion
At first, Zion did not want to get into the pool but with a whole lot of games, we progressed.
Freestyle Kicking - his kicking is good and straight but must be assisted with a kicker board.
He is still not blowing bubbles in a comfortable manner.
His back float kick is good also with assistance from the coach.
He knows how to get in and out of the pool.
Breast stroke - His breaststroke is coming along good using the noodle.
Zion enters the pool correctly.
Roshe
She was very happy to get into the water at our first lesson.
Freestyle Kick - Kicking is good and straight assisted with a kicker board.
She is not comfortable in putting her face under water but does blow bubbles.
Floating on her back is good as well as her backstroke kicking.
Breast Stroke - makes use of the noodle.
Roshe enters the pool correctly.
Indiphile
At the first lesson, Indiphile was very scared to get into the pool or do anything as he was afraid of the water going into his face. He now gets into the pool eagerly.
