Preschoolers Beating the Odds

We are pleased to report that an off-line donor recently covered ten more school access kids ($500) followed by an online donation for four more ($200)... that means that we reached and additional 14 children in the last quarter!

We prioritized the most vulnerable children at a local community preschool. Preschools are not common in Mozambique so it's really special when a community manages to open and sustain one. With the help of donors like you, ParCo makes sure that evey three to five year old in Quinto Congresso Neighborhood benefits from early childhood education regardless of their parent's ability to pay fees. That includes supplying school access kits to the most vulnerable kids through this project!

Here are some of the children we reached in September:

  • Yuiselen is three years old. Her mother struggles to make ends meet for her six children and the elders that have been put in her care. Yuiselen loves her new backpack and supplies which give her extra enthusiasm to pursue education no matter what.
  • Raciela is five years old. Her parents have very little income. They struggle with the basics but Raciela is able to attend school everyday. And now with a beautiful new backpack, uniform and supplies, her parents will worry less and dreams will grow big.
  • Agner is three years old. He lives with his mother. No one knows who his father is, but his peers and teachers give him plenty of support to learn and grow despite the obstacles he and his mother face.
  • Mario is almost six years old. He suffers from albinism which comes with stigma that can limit opportunities. We gave Mario a backpack and school kit this year which he will continue to use when he enters primary school in January. We shared a photo of Mario at the Quinto Congresso Community Preschool graduation!

Thanks to everyone for giving these kids a chance to thrive! Spread the word so your friends and loved ones can make a difference for a orphaned and vulnearble students in Mozambique. Let's help them beat the odds with school access kits!

Best Wishes,

Juliet
