Over 3,000 graduates earned degrees at Lehman College's 47th Commencement Ceremony last month, including over 30 St. George's Society scholarship recipients.
23 year-old St. George's Society scholar Nabila from the United Kingdom graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She has recently moved to Michigan where she will volunteer at the Henry Ford Hospital and study for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Nabila plans to enroll in medical school in early 2017 and says: “I want to make something of my life and give back to the people who have given me so much. The St. George’s Society scholarship has helped me in more ways than I could possibly explain and allowed me to pursue my lifelong dream of a career in medicine.”
President of Lehman College, Dr. Ricardo R. Fernández adds “Lehman College prides itself on being a place of transformation. On our campus students turn their dreams into reality. The generosity and the vision of St. George’s Society enables us to help our students fulfill those dreams, broaden their horizons, and grow intellectually engaged citizens.”
Later this summer, the Society's scholarship committee will be meeting to review applications for financial assistance from current Lehman College students and thanks to your support we will be able to help more young people earn their degrees and launch their careers.
