Celebrating Scholar Achievements and New Beginnings

SGSNY Scholars Graduating

In May, SGSNY proudly celebrated the graduation of 23 scholars. They earned degrees in fields, including nursing, computer science, and accounting just to name a few. Many have already secured employment or are pursuing an advanced degree. Each graduate received a special gift from our sponsor Chilmark Builders.

With over 500 alumni now in our network, your commitment continues to open doors and build a thriving community of future leaders.

This spring, SGSNY Patrons attended an exclusive wine tasting where a program alumna shared an inspiring story of how the Scholarship Program helped her overcome cultural barriers and empowered her to pursue a career in the public arts. She is now flourishing at The Metropolitan Opera.

In June, a scholar captivated the Casino Royale crowd with a powerful story about immigrating from Bangladesh as a child, becoming the breadwinner for her family at a young age, and finally graduating from college with the help of SGSNY.

These stories remind us all that your support makes a profound impact on these young people's lives and the lives of their families.

Earlier this spring, 45 Scholars, and alumni, gathered at the World Trade Center for a career development workshop. Participants heard from expert speakers on financial planning, workplace confidence, and interviewing. New York Life and Chilmark Builders for generously supported the event.

We have just finalized selections for the 2025-25 scholar cohort, and I cannot wait to introduce you to them this fall!
