St. George's Society of New York was thrilled to host 15 scholars from the 2023-24 cohort at our annual Virtual Orientation this fall. It was particularly exciting to have SGSNY’s new Executive Director Joshua Mandelbaum introduce himself and the program at the event. These informal group sessions provide SGSNY with the opportunity to meet our scholarship recipients and further learn who they are and their career goals. A virtual meet up ensures that students can join the group from any location and thus connect with us even when they have class just before or after the meeting. One particularly interesting scholar introduction included a student who dropped in to say hello while on a short break from his duties in a hospital. We love our scholars' drive to excel in all they do!
Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to meet SGSNY staff and program supporters in-person at the annual Scholarship Reception where they will practice their networking skills with NYC professionals in a supportive environment. SGSNY's professional development programming prepares scholars to enter the job market on strong footing when they graduate.
