SGSNY Welcomes 19 New Scholars for 2023-24

By Jessica Sims | Development & Membership Manager

St. George’s Society of New York proudly announces a grant of $50,000 to support 19 deserving CUNY scholars throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

Since its inception in 2008, our Scholarship Program has been dedicated to assisting final-year students of Commonwealth heritage who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements but face financial obstacles to completing their education. Over the years, our program has provided invaluable financial aid, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to nearly 500 scholars, totaling more than $1.4 million in support. Additionally, each scholar is granted a complimentary 1-year membership to SGSNY.

Our 2023 scholarship recipients hail from diverse academic backgrounds, pursuing degrees in fields such as Nursing, Accounting, Biology, and Computer Engineering at Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College, and College of Staten Island.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the collective efforts of our generous individual and corporate donors, whose contributions have made these scholarships possible.
