St. George’s Society of New York has been in close contact with our current 24 scholars to ensure that they remain on track to graduate this May. We’re happy to announce that all of our scholarship recipients are scheduled to graduate on time with two scholars going the extra mile to graduate early.
Congratulations to Genesia W. and Fatoumata D. for their outstanding academic achievements during the 2022 winter term!
Genesia is from Belize and graduated from Queens College with a degree in Speech Pathology. She plans to apply to graduate school this spring to pursue her dream of becoming a speech pathologist for disabled children. Fatoumata is from The Gambia and graduated from Lehman College with a degree in Biology. She intends to apply to medical school in pursuit of her ambition to become a physician’s assistant.
SGSNY will host a career enhancement workshop this spring to help our scholars prepare to enter the job market following graduation. The workshop will include talks lead by career professionals on how to develop important skills and how to land a first job. Scholars will also be provided with professional headshots so their online profiles will be looking their best as they each apply for jobs this summer.
Thank you for supporting our scholars and we look forward to sharing their successes as graduation approaches.
