Scholarships for Intelligent but Needy Students

My name is Sara, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Despite the financial challenges faced by my family, I worked hard to complete both my Matric and Intermediate education with good academic results. From an early age, I have been passionate about serving others, especially those who do not have access to proper healthcare facilities.

My father has always been the main source of support for our family and has worked tirelessly to ensure that I could continue my education. Unfortunately, due to severe back problems, he is no longer able to work regularly, which has placed a heavy financial burden on our household. As a result, managing my tuition fees, books, transportation, and clinical training expenses has become extremely difficult.

I chose the nursing profession because I want to care for people with compassion, respect, and dedication. Nursing is not only my career goal but also my desire to make a positive difference in the lives of patients and families who are suffering. I remain committed to completing my degree and becoming a responsible healthcare professional who can support both my family and community.

Receiving an SHD scholarship would greatly reduce my financial difficulties and allow me to focus fully on my studies and clinical training without constant worry about expenses. This support would encourage me to continue working hard toward achieving my educational goals.

After completing my degree, I hope to serve in underprivileged communities and organize health awareness sessions in my village, particularly for women and children who often lack basic health education. I believe that education and healthcare together can bring meaningful change to society.

Sajawal Ayub, son of Ayub Masih, lives in Gojra with his family. His father, Ayub, works tirelessly as a laborer, toiling day and night to provide for his loved ones. However, the meager income he earns barely covers the family's basic needs, leaving them struggling to make ends meet. Despite the financial struggles, Sajawal's passion for education has always burned bright. As a young boy, he was fascinated by the world of books and learning, and he knew that education was the key to unlocking a brighter future.

However, the pressure to contribute to the family income has made it tough for Sajawal to focus on his studies. His father, though loving and supportive, has been urging him to leave school and join him in the workforce. "I understand why my father wants me to work, Sajawal says. "He wants to ease the financial burden, but I know that education is the only way I can truly help him and our family."

Sajawal's determination to pursue his education has been tested, but his dreams of a better life have kept him going. He envisions a future where he can provide for his family, where he can give them a comfortable life, and where he can make a difference in his community.

Everything changed when he received the scholarship from Society for Human Development. "The day I got the scholarship was like a weight off my shoulders," Sajawal says with a smile. "The financial burden was lifted, and I could finally breathe. I felt like I could finally focus on my studies, without worrying about how my family would make ends meet."

With renewed dedication, Sajawal is chasing his dreams. He is now in grade 12, and he is determined to make the most of this opportunity. "I'm not just studying for myself; I'm studying for my family, for a brighter future," he says with conviction. "I want to show my parents that their sacrifices have not been in vain, that their struggles will pay off."
