The Foundation grants partial/full scholarships to aspiring students of Yerevan State Medical University aimed at encouraging and empowering future pharmacists to pursue a career in clinical pharmacy. The requested funding will significantly lower the financial burden and serve as an inspiration and professional challenge for those who will receive it. Ultimately, through investing in education, we believe that this will directly impact patient care in Armenia.
The profession of clinical pharmacist does not currently exist in Armenia due to various reasons, including the underdeveloped status of the pharmacy sector, gaps in professional education and the lack of interest from hospitals and government. VMF's vision is to see clinical pharmacy as an integral part of the healthcare system in Armenia, that the definition of complete and effective patient care includes the addition of clinical pharmacists as key contributors to the welfare of patients. Our work is important for the patients who want to be sure that the medical treatment they receive is adjusted to their individual needs and leads to the best possible health outcomes. And the role of the clinical pharmacist is key in this. We advocate for regulatory framework improvement and the community of clinical pharmacists will directly benefit from our work. Our work leads to elevating the acknowledgement and the role of clinical pharmacists in the health care system.
