This project provides free medical treatment to more than 2000 stray dogs every month who roam on the street without shelter, proper food, and care through our animal hospital in Ahmedabad. Jivdaya Charitable Trust treats injured and diseased stray dogs who are rescued and brought to us and saves all stray lives in need with our on-field treatment vans with a team of vet and vet assistants.
Stray dogs are great companions and protectors of their respective territories. But many a time, these stray dogs become the victim of various inhumane acts. Also, they suffer from different zoonotic and seasonal diseases that can transmit to humans and can be fatal, like rabies, brucella etc. Most of the time, these poor strays die a painful death or live miserable life. An uncontrolled stray population lead to many juvenile deaths which are heart-wrenching.
Jivdaya Charitable Trust treats all these diseased and distressed stray dogs, admit them to our facility and takes care of their regular medication, different surgeries, pre & post-surgery care, nutritious food, and physiotherapy till the time they recover completely and go back to their normal life. Apart from that our mobile treatment vans provide localized medical services in different parts of Ahmedabad. Our goal is to attend to each dog that is in need because every stray life matters.
This project provides timely treatment and eliminates many dangerous diseases by vaccinating them like rabies, canine distemper, parvovirus etc. Control overpopulation with 'Animal Birth Control' surgeries and lower the risk of territorial fights, dog bite cases, juvenile deaths, road accidents and many unpleasant incidents. In the long run, this project will help build a Rabies-free society, will decrease human-animal conflicts, and increase a healthy stray population and pain-free life.
