Namaste!
Thank you so much for your generosity to the people of Nepal! We are so grateful for your support of our work to build access to maternal and neonatal healthcare there. You have made a tremendous difference in so many lives and we, and the people of Nepal, are so grateful.
As you may know, the country was struck by two devastating earthquakes in April and May. Since they hit, we have distributed many tons of relief supplies to the hardest hit rural communities in Nepal and sent several aid teams to see patients, assess the damage to health infrastructure, and build a plan for rebuilding and reaching those who need access to care. We are now installing solar tent clinics for deliveries and maternal and neonatal health check ups. The tents can be in place for up to 5 years and will be open on a 24-hour basis, staffed by skilled birth attendants around the clock. They are fully furnished and equipped for deliveries and basic medical treatments. We have installed 20 tents so far in the districts of Sindhupalchok and Dhading and plan to install many more. We are ready to begin rebuilding permanent structures in the fall, once the monsoon season ends.
Can you help us rebuild the damaged health posts and restore access to maternal and neonatal care in Nepal? Our campaign can be found here.
While we raise funds to rebuild permanent structures, One Heart World-Wide has been delivering essential medical supplies and installing fully-furnished, equipped, and staffed solar tents for deliveries in the areas where the health posts have been destroyed. They are already being widely used by villagers and have seen over 40 deliveries, and many more prenatal and postnatal check ups. The tents can be in place for up to 5 years and will be open on a 24-hour basis, staffed by skilled birth attendants around the clock. They are fully furnished and equipped for deliveries and basic medical treatments.
Thank you for your generous support to One Heart World-Wide. Training and equipping community health volunteers and midwives ensures that expectant mothers in Nepal can access the lifesaving care that they need.
With deep gratitude,
