Leading - and Helping - with Our Hearts!

Hello, friends -

It’s a sad fact that the state of North Carolina moved from #3 to #2 in shelter euthanasia in the past year. This indicates that, instead of going down, the number of cats and kittens that end up in those shelters and animal control facilities is going up. And more and more are being put to sleep. It’s not a good statistic.

That’s why spay and neuter programs like the one we support in central North Carolina are so important. We work in an area where many cats are dumped and form or join community cat colonies that live in every possible situation, from old trailer parks to truck lots, and behind businesses to just roughing it in the woods. The counties we target - Guilford, Rockingham, Randolph, and Alamance - are all underserved by spay/neuter services for these community cats, the ones who have no advocates or voices.

Through your generosity in supporting this program, YOU are their voices and advocates. You provide the spay or neuter procedures and medical treatments that reduce their suffering and keep litters of kittens from being exposed to very dire circumstances and almost certain death. It can’t be stressed enough how important you are to them

As I mentioned to you in our last report, we finished 2024 by reaching our support goal of 1,040 cats treated, contributing to an overall total of 2,600 for the year! That is a much better statistic, and we have you to thank for helping us get there.

We continue to help fund this important program for 2025. Our goal is to fund spay or neuter procedures (and any needed medical care) for 1,000. Please know that your great hearts and kindness are making a difference!  We thank you so much.

Best,

Samantha
