Saving America's Horses

Saving America’s Horses, the documentary film and multimedia educational project spotlights urgent global environmental and humanitarian crises. This powerful educational social action tool and feature film contrasts shots of noble, beautiful, galloping animals with well-researched, shocking statistics and brings to screen a searing indictment of special interests and governmental agencies involved in the predatory exploits of America's horses.

Excerpts from the film provide compelling sound bites for public awareness alerts and public announcements which through socail outreach and grassroots networking, reach millions of people whose voices make a difference and save lives in real time.

Saving America's Horses' speaks to the need for protection of America's wild and domestic horses and burros both locally and on a national level. Strong federal protection for these animals through a permanent federal ban against slaughter in the U.S. is needed to put an end to their exportation from the U.S. for slaughter in foreign countries. Without federal protection more than 100,000 wild and domestic horses and burros are trucked across U.S. borders for gruesome slaughter each year.

We are reaching out to animal lovers and horse enthusiasts worldwide to help spread the word about the vital need to save and protect America's Horses from unspeakable suffering, malicious harm, and gruesome death. Why this is Important:

In the absence of federal protection, countless wild and domestic horses and burros are shipped across federal borders to slaughterhouses each year. Wild horses and burros are rapidly diminishing in the wild and there is no guarantee of humane treatment for any equines in America once they are labeled for slaughter. Special interests are aggressively targeting American tax dollars to re-open horse slaughter in the U.S. The public health risks are many; the health and environmental impacts are grave. The public has been duped and we believe the public deserves to know the truth.

Through GlobalGiving, with your continued kind and generous support, we’ve raised $2260 through 86 donations to date, toward our overall goal of $35,000.  Financial contributions are urgently needed to widen the reach to as many people as possible.
