Summary

SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES is a multimedia educational project which reveals how the public has been misled by special interests that run over the laws that are supposed to protect the horses, the people and the environment. Provides irrefutable evidence of how roundups and horse slaughter perpetuates criminal animal cruelty, and inspires social action toward ending the cruelty, and protecting and preserving America's horses and burros.

Challenge

To widen distribution of this project and get the true facts into the mainstream. The public health risks are many; the environmental impact is grave. Timing is pivotal, with the ongoing elimination of our wild horses from the rangelands, from holding areas, and with the escalated push by foreign investors to reopen horse slaughter plants in the U.S., more and more horses are suffering the cruel death of barbaric slaughter.

Solution

This project funds the costs to expand distribution platforms for the remastered version of this educational film, multimedia project, and advocacy program. It brings the truth to the benefit of public interests and increases civic engagement to effect the changes needed. The project spotlights imminent and urgent health risks to humans and the environmental impact caused by the capture, removal, transport and stockpiling of both wild and domestic horses to be slaughtered for human consumption.

Long-Term Impact

Saving America's Horses can put an end to the cruelties and empower the united voice of the world's finest and most devoted equine welfare professionals and experts who have contributed their life work toward ending the inhumane treatment of horses and burros, advocating for their legal safeguard from slaughter, promoting federal protection for America's wild horses and burros from exploitation, harassment, and extermination.
