Summary

In war-torn Yemen, vulnerable rural families depend on donkeys, horses, and other working animals for transportation, agriculture, farming, carrying water, and earning a living. Yet many animals lack adequate food, veterinary care, and protection from preventable diseases. This project will provide essential veterinary treatment, nutritious feed, preventive care, and animal welfare education to improve the lives of 300 working animals while protecting the livelihoods of vulnerable families.

Challenge

Years of conflict, poverty, and limited veterinary services have left Yemen's working animals and the families who depend on them struggling to survive. Donkeys, horses, and other animals suffer from malnutrition, untreated injuries, and preventable diseases. When these animals become sick or die, vulnerable families lose vital transportation, farming support, and income, pushing them deeper into poverty. Protecting these animals means saving livelihoods, restoring dignity, and sustaining hope.

Solution

SYS Foundation will bring lifesaving care to Yemen's vulnerable working animals through mobile veterinary services, essential medicines, emergency feed, and practical training for owners. By treating injuries, preventing disease, improving nutrition, and promoting humane working conditions, the project will ease animal suffering while protecting the transport, farming, and income that vulnerable families rely on. Every healthier animal means a stronger family and a more resilient community.

Long-Term Impact

By improving animal health and welfare, this project will relieve preventable suffering and protect the livelihoods of vulnerable Yemeni families. Healthier working animals mean reliable transportation, better farming, and more stable incomes. Through sustainable animal care and community awareness, the project will strengthen rural resilience, reduce poverty, and help families regain their dignity, independence, and hope for a better future.
